HSS has received an amazing £10,000 from the Paradigm Foundation to help parents in Slough who are struggling with family life.
The generous funding from the Foundation, which is linked to Paradigm Housing and based in Wooburn Green, will go towards helping Paradigm’s tenants in the town.
Janine Edwards, Scheme Manager for Home-Start Slough said: “We are so happy that Paradigm Foundation has granted us the money and would like to extend our appreciation for the funding, which will go a long way in helping its tenants who are struggling with family life.
“Grants like these really do make a huge difference to small charities like us, and will make sure we can continue to reach out to those most in need.”
Mike Gahagan, Chair of the Foundation added: “The Foundation was pleased to make this award to Home-Start Slough. It is important that our residents and their families feel settled in an area and are able to make full use of the facilities on offer. Home-Start helps greatly in that respect”
Home-Start Slough helps up to 100 families a year get their lives back on track due to post-natal depression, child disabilities, substance misuse, domestic violence and family bereavement.
However, there are more than 350 families at any one time who need the support of HSS, so if you would like to make a donation or become a volunteer, please contact the HSS team on 01628 661029 for more information.
It costs £180,000 a year to run the charity and help families in desperate need.
