Home-Start Slough has been nominated for the Group of the Year Award 2015 by Slough CVS for its sterling work with families in need in the community.
The panel of judges met at the beginning of this month to decide on the shortlist and consisted of The Mayor of Slough, Cllr Mohammed Rasib, The Leader of the Council, Cllr. Rob Anderson, Claire Giocobbe, Mars Chocolates, Gordon Briggs, President of The Rotary Club of Slough and chairing the Panel and Gary Mason from Slough Freemasons.
Everyone at HSS are very excited to have to been chosen and are looking forward to attending the awards evening on November 20, at the Heathrow Windsor Marriot Hotel.
A spokesperson for Home-Start Slough said: “We are delighted to be have been shortlisted for the Group of the Year Award and are excited to find out if we win.
“Our charity has such an excellent track record of positively working with parents and their children in the town and helping them improve their lives, health, safety and happiness.
“Last year, one of our outstanding volunteers, Kerry Kipping, won Volunteer of the Year. Let’s hope our luck continues in November.”
Home-Start Slough helps up to 100 families a year get their lives back on track due to post-natal depression, child disabilities, substance misuse, domestic violence and family bereavement.
