Charity welcomes new Senior Organiser

Home-Start Slough has welcomed Michelle Harwood as its new Senior Organiser/Coordinator.

Michelle started her career at Home-Start more than 17 years ago as a volunteer for British Forces in Germany, helping struggling parents cope with isolation and young family life.

Then, in 2013, she became Home-Start Slough’s safeguarding trustee before taking her new role in the Burnham office in December 2015.

For the last 25 years, Michelle has been working with young children and adults and has a wealth of experience supporting people to develop and improve their life chances.

Michelle said: “I’ve joined the Home-Start Slough team at a very exciting time, as the charity turns 20 later this year”

“I feel my experience with the charity and the families I have met can help me make a positive contribution to the care of children, build respectful partnerships with parents and develop alliances with external agencies to further secure the future of the charity.

“It has been a great start to 2016 for me personally, and the charity has so much happening this year. As always, we need the support of the local people either with donations and/or training as volunteers. Keep an eye out for what’s going to be happening at Home-Start Slough on our website.”
