Charity calls on ‘dress-up’ donations

Home-Start Slough is calling on residents to donate any unwanted dress-up clothes for their Family Support Group, where parents go every week to gain support from the charity and meet other mums and dads.

The clothes needed are for a range of ages, so if anyone is having a clear out of dressing up clothes, which your child may have grown out of all the way to clean, looked after clothing such as scarfs, hats etc… HSS would love to have them.

The children would really love some ‘pom-poms’ as well. Any donated dress-up clothes would be very exciting to the youngsters and make their day.

The Family Support Group (FSG) helps parents, especially those waiting to be matched with a HSS volunteer, get out of the house and meet others and get the support from our FSG volunteers.

HSS is a lifeline to many families in the Slough and Burnham area.

Lesley Michaelis, Chair of Home-Start Slough, said: “Our weekly Family Support Group is a lifeline for many parents who need the support of our volunteers and fellow families.

“The children enjoy the opportunity to play with others, and like so many, really enjoy playing dress-up. It would be wonderful if people could donate their unwanted children’s dress-up outfits or similar.”

If you would like to donate dress-up clothes, please drop them off at the HSS offices at 111 High Street, Burnham, Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 2.30pm.
