Home-Start Slough (HSS) has welcomed a new Safeguarding Trustee to the charity this month.
Julie Melotte will play a key role in helping the charity push forward and help the office team and volunteers support families in Slough.
She said: “I feel very privileged that I’ve always been able to work in jobs that I really enjoy and being the new safeguarding trustee for HSS will be very rewarding.
“My career has taken many different twists and turns along the way, but I have always had a real interest in health promotion and improving life-chances, so l’m looking forward to being part of the Home-Start team.
“It’s a big responsibility and I’m sure it will be challenging at times. However, l’m confident there will be many rewards too.
“Home-Start Slough is full of people who really care about the service they provide to families and they are passionate about the work they do. I’m excited about being able to join this dedicated team.”
Home-Start Slough helps up to 100 families a year get their lives back on track due to post-natal depression, child disabilities, substance misuse, domestic violence and family bereavement.
However, there are more than 350 families at any one time who need the support of HSS, so if you would like to become a volunteer, please contact the HSS team on 01628 661029 or visit www.hsslough.co.uk for more information or to make a donation.
