Off to a tee for charity

Home-Start Slough’s well received annual golf day will be on Thursday, July 7 this year and tickets are now on sale.

The charity is asking keen golfers and businesses to get teams together to help raise funds for the family charity. The day will kick off at 7.30am with a light breakfast and coffee and tea, followed by 18 holes of golf, a three course lunch, prize presentations and a raffle draw.

The golf day will be held at Lambourne Golf Club. To register your team, please call the office on 01628 661029 or email

Individual players can join in at £85 each and corporate companies can be included for £500 a team. Discounts are available for those already members of the golf club.

The event can be sponsored by businesses providing ‘nearest pin sponsorship’ at £200, ‘longest drive’ at £200.

Lesley Michaelis, Chair for Home-Start Slough, said: “Our annual golf day is always greatly attended and is a fun day for all.

“The funds raised always greatly helps towards the charity supporting families in need in the town.”

Home-Start Slough helps up to 100 families a year get their lives back on track due to post-natal depression, child disabilities, substance misuse, domestic violence and family bereavement.

However, there are more than 350 families at any one time who need the support of HSS, so if you would like to become a volunteer, please contact the HSS team on 01628 661029.
