Although we are part of Home-Start UK, every scheme like ours is run independently by a board of volunteer trustees.

The trustees have overall responsibility for the management and general running of Home-Start Slough, as well as the employment of seven staff.

There are currently 7 board members who are elected at our annual general meeting in October. Some previous committee experience is desirable, but not essential, as a full induction and ongoing training is available.

Members are expected to attend board meetings every six weeks. There are also four sub committees – HR, finance, events and fundraising – and members may also sit on one or more of these to progress work that has been identified.
